House Program Season Overview

The Turnpike House Program is a recreational, team-based league for boys and girls in Grades K–12. The focus is on fun, fundamentals, and community while teaching players how to compete the right way.

The House season primarily runs in the Winter, with additional offseason sessions during Spring if there is interest.

Scrimmages and evaluations begin in mid-October, so be sure to watch for schedule announcements.

Preseason

Registration

  • Opens in late summer; closes prior to team formation
  • Waitlists may be used when divisions fill
  • See current status on the Registration Page

Fall Programs

  • Players are invited to participate in our Fall Clinics Program, starting in September.
  • House League players must participate in scrimmages and evaluations, beginning in October.
    • We also use these games to train referees, scorekeepers and clock managers, so feel free to attend to learn these valuable skills.

Team Formation

  • Teams are formed by volunteer coaches, starting in November.
    • Full training and support are provided for volunteer coaches.
  • Typical Grade Groupings
    • Girls: High School, 7–8, 5–6, 3–4 (as numbers allow)
    • Boys: High School, 7–8, 5–6, 3–4 (as numbers allow)
    • K-2 Developmental League:
      • 3v3 half-court format
      • Scores not kept
      • Emphasis on learning the game, teamwork, and having fun
  • We cannot guarantee that all teammate / coach requests will be granted.
    • We want to avoid "stacked" and/or "over-matched" teams.
    • We believe that meeting and developing relationships with players from other local schools enhances the player's experience.
